Key Personnel

Company Leadership

At the helm of our organization are some of industry’s most respected, knowledgeable, and innovative engineers and operations people in the industry, with an unsurpassed pedigree in designing and manufacturing custom radial seals. Day in and day out, they are working on-site, overseeing every phase of every project to ensure product excellence and customer satisfaction.

Grant Massey, General Manager

As General Manager, Grant oversees all operations at Cooper Products Inc., ensuring that our customers get the high-quality products they need on time. Grant came to Cooper in February 2013 from Zhongding USA Inc. in Strasburg, Ohio, bringing with him more than 27 years’ experience in the rubber industry. Before moving to Zhongding, Grant worked for Ohio Rubber Inc. He has served in roles including Plant Manager, Engineering Manager, Process Engineer, Quality Manager, Product Design Engineer, Tool Design Engineer, and Equipment Designer. Grant also has extensive hands-on experience with Caterpillar and Allied-Machine & Engineering products, having made indexable carbide, spade drills, and Caterpillar V flange tool holders while working as Plant Manager. He started out as a Physical Laboratory Machinist Apprentice at the Timken Company in 1966, and now—more than 45 years later—he is glad to be back working in the bearing industry, where he plans to stay for the duration of his career. Our staff and customers could not be more pleased to have Grant at the helm here at Cooper Products.

Russ Vaiden, Material Development Manager

Russ brings more than 35 years’ experience to his role as Material Development Manager at Cooper Products. After earning a Master of Science degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire, he began his career as a Polymer Chemist at Arthur S. Brown Manufacturing Company in Tilton, New Hampshire, where he developed castable polyurethanes and rubber latex belt coatings and re-surfaced polyurethane and silicone rollers. Russ then joined International Packings Corporation (later Freudenberg-NOK General Partnership) as Supervisor of Analytical Chemistry in charge of rubber-to-metal bonding as well as analytical chemistry. He was soon promoted to Senior Project Engineer, a role which also included rubber formulation development. Subsequently, as Manager of Material Development for the company’s Automotive Sealing Products Division, he headed laboratories in Bristol, New Hampshire; LaGrange, Georgia; and Cleveland, Georgia. He also interfaced heavily with colleagues at Freudenberg in Weinheim, Germany, and NOK in Fujisawa, Japan.

Russ joined Cooper Products after a brief stint as Technical Manager at Merrand International, a position that involved importing and exporting plasticizers and other rubber-modifying chemicals. As a member of our team, his collaborative efforts with engineering colleague Hans Dahll, drawing on their combined talents and extensive experience in rubber development, were instrumental in the formation of the Cooper Products Technical Development Center, our state-of-the-art design center in Laconia, New Hampshire.
